This was a top place for fish and chips, in my case I liked skate, and there weren't that many places that do it. Andy the previous owner new exactly what he was buying, the fish was always fresh and tasty which is why I travelled about 8 miles each week to get it. I was assured by the new owners nothing would change, well, the price went up by a 1 straight away, not only was my fish smaller, but it wasn't as nice either. I thought teething problems, so I gave it a rest for 3 weeks and tried again, again the food wasn't near to what it had been. I gave it one more chance yesterday, and quite frankly I won't be going back anymore the fish was again a dark brown colour, a bit sloshy, and I only ate half of it. A shame as I'd been going their about 10 years I think, or maybe more.

Humphreys has been on Meopham Parade fsince I was a young lad (several decades however you measure it). The food has always been of good quality and it has plenty of custom which also shows it's consistent and has a lot of returing customers. The prices are typical and I wouldn't say it was noticeably more or less expensive than any other fish and chip shop. It deals in the usual food stuffs you'd expect these days, a selection of fish, chicken, pies, nuggets, burgers etc...oh and chips. And eggs. And pickles. Big ones.It's recently changed ownership, not necessarily a good or bad thing, just an observation. I've been here twice since then and not seen a particular change in the food - the chips are still good and the fish has been excellent too.The parking can be difficult during take-away rush hour especially on a Friday night. though if you own a big expensive car you are allowed to park on the double yellow lines on the main road. Or so it seems.
Yummy as always, never had a bad takeaway so would always recommend.
